NCMetal.org is undergoing MASSIVE changes to comply with and take advantage of all the new features and tools that come along with the WEB 2.0 craze that has taken the internet by storm over the last few years.

Please be patient as this move and change takes place.

If you wonder what web 2.0 is, just take a look at Youtube and Myspace and that will explain it for the most part.

Major time jump here, loads of things went on that stuck this on the back burner again.

Recent business projects brought it back to life since a client is requesting many of the features that I had started working on here. Works out well bacause I can write the code once and use it both places with only a few modifications.

Stephan

Starting to get some of the core files moved over to the new server that I setup a while back.

There is still no real ETA on site completion so just keep checking back to see what is going on. I will try to keep this as up-to-date as possible so progress is at least visible here.

Stephan

Yeah yeah, I know nothing has been done that you can see here.

There have been a good many changes in the source for the site and lots of thought given to how things should work when everything is completed. I have isolated this domain on our servers so that all future tracking and information will be only for NCMetal.org and it's subdomains. With that seemingly small change comes a multitude of server and code modifications that have to be done.

I have been dealing with other things and have set this to the back burner for quite some time. I do plan to get back on the ball with this in the near future.

Stephan

There have been many things going on here on a personal level that have stopped me from completing the move and changes that I had initially intended. At this point I have a new forum system in place that will stop all the forum bots from being able to get in. The reason for this is because a few weeks back I brought the forum back online and open to the public and within 24 hours there were 10 new members, ALL BOTS!

The new forum makes things a bit hard on everyone since it has an entierly different password encryption process. If I completed the change and deleted the current forum, ALL usernames and messages and everything would be lost and everyone would have to register again.

I know with all the time that the site has been offline that we have lost many visitors but at this point I can't see a need to dump all the usernames and cause everyone to have to re-register. I am working on a method to make the change smooth but it is a bit difficult to keep things in order and out of reach of the bots.

There will be many new additions to the site when it does manage to get back online so again, please be patient and keep checking back.

Regards,
Stephan
